Yes. Our guides are highly trained in night navigation, canyoneering, and wilderness safety. Each guest is equipped with a headlamp, harness, helmet, and personal attention to ensure a safe and controlled experience, even after dark.

Not at all. No experience is required. Your guide will provide clear instruction and support for every rappel and will tailor the route to match your group’s comfort and skill level.

It is completely normal to feel a little nervous. Our guides specialize in helping guests build confidence and move at their own pace. The quiet calm of the night and the support of a private group often help guests overcome those initial fears.

Depending on the moon phase and cloud cover, you may see the Milky Way, planets, constellations, and shooting stars. We operate in areas free of artificial light, offering some of the best stargazing in the Southwest.

Wear layers that keep you warm after dark, sturdy closed-toe shoes, and bring water and a small backpack. We provide all the technical gear and lighting, and your guide will let you know what to expect based on the season and weather.

Dark Sky Canyoneering is rated moderate, with hiking distances ranging from 0.75 to 2 miles and elevation gain up to 400 feet. If you are comfortable walking on uneven terrain and can manage a few short climbs, you will do great.
