    Yes. While the hike is strenuous, no prior rappelling experience is required. Our guides provide expert instruction, safety gear, and one-on-one support to ensure you feel secure and confident at every rappel.

  • How physically demanding is this adventure to Birch Hollow?

    Birch Hollow is one of our more challenging routes, with 6 miles of hiking and 2,000 feet of elevation gain. It is best for guests with good fitness and a spirit for adventure. A shuttle can be arranged to reduce hiking distance and elevation gain. For more info about shuttle options please inquire.

  • Is this tour private?

    Yes. All Ways Adventure runs exclusively private tours, so your experience is customized for your group. You will never be paired with strangers, allowing your guide to adjust the pace and route to your preferences.

  • What is the longest rappel, and how many are there at Birch Hollow?

    You will complete 10 or more rappels, with the longest dropping over 100 feet. Our guides manage all technical rigging and coach you through every descent, always prioritizing your safety.

  • Do we need to bring special equipment?

    Be sure to wear sturdy, comfortable hiking shoes and dress in layers to stay comfortable as the weather changes. Bring along sunscreen, sunglasses, water, snacks, and a camera. We’ll take care of all the technical gear—helmets, harnesses, ropes, and everything else you’ll need for a safe and fun rappelling experience.

  • Will we get wet during the tour?

    Birch Hollow is typically dry, but depending on the season, you may encounter knee to waist deep pools. Your guide will help you navigate around or through water as needed.

  • How do we get to the trailhead, and do we need a 4WD vehicle for Birch Hollow?

    Yes, the trailhead requires a high-clearance 4WD vehicle. No need to bring your own, simply ride with us.
