Guided Narrows Hike in Zion National Park

Join All Ways Adventure for a guided hike through The Narrows, one of Zion National Park's most famous slot canyons. This hike takes you through the Virgin River, where tall sandstone walls rise on either side, creating a unique canyon rivaled only by the nearby, lesser visited, Parunuweap Canyon. Our knowledgeable guides will lead you through the riverbed, pointing out interesting geological features and sharing information about the area's history and wildlife. Whether you're walking through ankle-deep water or navigating deeper pools, The Narrows is a hike that combines adventure with incredible scenery.

We provide the necessary gear and guidance to make your hike safe and comfortable. Our team will ensure you’re prepared for river conditions and help you get the most out of your experience. Ideal for individuals, families, and small groups, our guided Narrows tour offers a chance to explore one of Zion's most iconic trails with expert support.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS/NOTES

While this is a privately guided tour, we expect to see 100s of other people. Booking a guide for the Narrows restricts the hike to turn around at the junction with Orderville Canyon (2.5 miles one-way from the trailhead), excluding the world famous Wall Street Corridor from the trip. Guests may not seperate from their guide and will see the public continuing into this section of the canyon. For those wishing to enter into the Wall Street Corridor, we would be happy to answer any questions to help prepare you for the only legal way to accomplish this, an unguided experience.

Things You Need to Know

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How difficult is the Narrows hike? Do I need to be super fit?

You don’t need to be an athlete to enjoy The Narrows! If you’re comfortable walking for a few hours and navigating uneven terrain, you’ll be fine. We move at a relaxed pace and tailor the experience to your comfort level.

  • Will we be hiking in deep water the whole time?

Not at all. Most of the hike is through ankle to knee-deep water, with some sections up to the waist depending on river flow. Your guide will choose the safest and most scenic route based on conditions that day.

  • What gear do you provide—and what do I need to bring?

We provide all essential river gear, including water shoes, neoprene socks, and a hiking pole. You just need to bring quick-dry clothes, a small backpack, snacks, and a sense of adventure.

Entrance to the park is not included in the price of the trip. The guest should prepare by bringing along any of the following: valid annual America the Beautiful National Park Pass, receipt for valid week-long pass to the relevant park, or be prepared to pay the entrance fee at the gate. All Ways Adventure will provide commercial permits where applicable.

  • Is this hike safe for kids or older adults?

This hike is best for young kids or very short people in the summer or fall months when the water is lowest and the air temperature is highest. For very short people, full body swims may be required where more average or taller height people are only wading up to their waist - no problem as long as the swimmer is wearing appropriate cold water gear or the temperatures are warm enough to ensure a quick recovery from the cold water.
