Things You Need to Know

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why is White Pocket so special—and is it really worth the full day?

Yes! White Pocket is one of the most surreal landscapes in the Southwest. With swirling sandstone, vibrant color bands, and otherworldly rock formations, it's a bucket-list location for photographers and nature lovers. This isn't just a hike—it's an experience you'll talk about for years.

  • Is this tour currently available to book?

Not quite yet. All Ways Adventure is currently awaiting final approval from the BLM for driving access, as permits are limited to help preserve this fragile landscape. In the meantime, we recommend booking our White Pocket Express tour. It offers similar stunning rock formations with a shorter drive and fewer crowds. This is a great way to experience the magic of the area while we prepare to guide you to the original.

  • What makes this tour different from your White Pocket Express trip?

White Pocket Express is closer to Kanab and offers a shorter adventure with similar visual appeal—but the full-day White Pocket tour takes you to the real thing. It's more remote, more immersive, and features one of the most geologically unique areas in the entire region.

  • How difficult is the hike, and what kind of terrain should I expect?

Expect sandy tracks, uneven rock surfaces, and moderate elevation changes. It’s not a technical hike, but it's a physically active day. If you're comfortable walking for a few hours with breaks—and love exploration—you'll thrive.

  • What kind of vehicle is used for the drive, and is it bumpy?

The route to White Pocket requires serious 4WD. We handle all transportation in high-clearance off-road vehicles designed for this type of terrain. It's a long, sandy ride—but that’s part of the adventure!

  • Will I be with a group, or is this a private tour?

We offer both private and small-group options. Our groups stay intimate so your guide can personalize the experience—whether you're a casual hiker, serious photographer, or geology nerd (we mean that with love).

  • Can I still explore something similar while I wait for this tour to open?

Absolutely! Our White Pocket Express tour offers a closer, crowd-free adventure with stunning rock formations and incredible photo ops. It's the perfect teaser while we wait for full White Pocket access.
